[18] Kate Price Price (1867-1952)
Kate Price Price was born in Blackheath on 27th August 1867. Kate became her mother’s companion after her father’s death and remained unmarried throughout her life. She attended the school in Leamington Spa where her sister Julia taught and was recorded there in the 1881 census. In 1891 she was living with her widowed mother at 4 Hervey Road, Kidbrook and in 1901 and 1911 was by her side when they were recorded in the censuses. Kate was joint executor for her mother’s estate in 1917 and may well have been passed the family home at 6 Vanbrugh Park Road before Charlotte’s death.
Kate died on 13th October 1952 at Furze House, Flimwell, East Sussex, after a stroke. She lived at the Temperance Hotel, Heathfield, Hailsham, Sussex. A notice was placed in the Daily Telegraph of 16th October about her death. "PRICE. On Oct. 13 at Flimwell, Kent, KATE, aged 85, last surviving child of W. S. PRICE, H.E.I.C.S." (The initials stand for "Honourable East India Company Service").
Probate was granted to the Westminster Bank Ltd and her effects were valued at £237 17s 10d.
