[15] Alexander Dodds Price (1858-1860)

Alexander was yet another Price child with a short life, being born in Dharwar, on 2nd May 1858. He had been brought to England in 1860, where he died, on 26th March, whilst in the care of schoolmaster Richard Trousdale in Streatham, London. He was buried in a public grave in nearby West Norwood Cemetery (No. 6884, Square 17). There would have been no headstone. When William Samuel Price II died later, in 1882, he was also buried in this cemetery rather than any in the Borough of Greenwich where he resided. Perhaps he and Charlotte visited the site of Alexander’s grave after they moved to England in 1864 and chose this as their final resting-place.
